23.03.20 - Notice for all customers
As the Coronavirus pandemic is escalating and as news and recommendations from the Government are being updated on a daily basis, we wanted to advise you of some of the measures we are taking at Automotive Parts Distribution Ltd that may directly affect you.
SOCIAL DISTANCING - DELIVERIES TO TRADE ACCOUNT CUSTOMERS
Since Early last week all of our staff have been advised to keep a distance of at least 2 metres from anyone else. When one of our drivers delivers goods to your garage, they will not approach you in a way that breaches this 2 metre boundary. The driver will alert you, or one of your team, that the delivery is being made and the goods will be left in a safe and visible place.
When our drivers deliver goods, we ask you to also respect the 2-metre boundary.
SIGNING FOR GOODS
All of our drivers are instructed not to seek a signature from you as proof of delivery. Instead they will ask for the name of the person who acknowledges the delivery and note it on their delivery sheet.
With immediate effect, we will cease accepting cash payments for any goods delivered. If you normally pay by cash, we will ask that you pay by card at the point of ordering the goods. We are already able to accept payments over the phone.
SOCIAL DISTANCING - COLLECTIONS - ALL CUSTOMERS
Should you visit one of our branches to collect and/or pay for goods, we ask that you kindly remain behind the temporary distancing line, marked out with hazard warning tape on the floor in front of each counter. Please remain behind the line while you place your order and wait for your transaction to be processed. At the time of payment and handover of goods, you will be invited forward. Please follow the directions of our team members. It is for their protection and for yours.
ARE WE CLOSING OUR BRANCHES?
Not at the moment.
Unlike some of the high street retailers who normally trade with a large, physical presence of retail customers, our business operates much more like online warehouses do. In the vast majority of cases, goods are ordered remotely by account-holding trade customers and we then deliver those goods to the customer's place of business. Our footfall in the branches is minimal even in normal circumstances and we have taken additional protective measures for any face to face transactions. We will of course comply with any new instructions issued by our Government, which may include closure.
We hope for your understanding and kind co-operation with these new measures and we look forward to getting back to normal at some stage. In the meantime, please keep an eye on this page for any further updates.
