The washer reservoir is used to hold the screenwash that removes dirt and grease from your windscreen. The reservoir is made of plastic and is usually located in the engine compartment for ease of filling. It is connected to a washer pump and plastic tubing which in turn are linked to the washer jets on the vehicles windscreen.
Washer reservoirs can break due to damage from road debris or the plastic can degrade over time particularly if the vehicle is subject to extremes of temperature.
